This is a web implementation of Conway’s Game of Life. Conway was a British mathematician who invented this cellular automaton game in the 1970s. For more details refer to the article on Conway’s Game of Life on Wikipedia.
On each iteration (or generation, or tick) of the game each cell in the grid is updated according to the rules below:
- Dead cells with exactly tree live neighbors become alive
- Live cells with two or three live neighbors stay alive
- All other cells die or stay dead
